Hitachi launches 2.7 inch TX07D09 LCD display engineered for industrial and consumer applications

Hitachi Display Products Group has introduced two high performance 2.7 inch TFT LCD display modules engineered to meet the demanding needs of industrial and consumer oriented applications. |
The high brightness TX07D09VM1CBB and touch panel TX07D09VM1CAB offer wide operating temperature ranges of -20 to +70°C and QVGA resolution, displaying the same amount of information as the larger 3.5 inch displays but in a smaller package. Both high performance modules are ideally suited to applications that encounter high ambient light environments.
“The development of the TX07D09 has sparked significant interest from customers that want to use a 240 x 320, QVGA display resolution on a highly compact, 2.7 inch module. The bright, high contrast LCD unit, with or without touch panel is very neatly packaged with the timing controller built into the display, providing additional functionality to the customer without compromising on performance, price or size,” says Mark Stephenson, Product Manager for Hitachi Display Products Group. “Engineered to Hitachi’s demanding quality standards the TX07D09 has been specifically designed to meet the needs of industrial and consumer markets with potential applications ranging from smartphones, PDA’s and handheld GPS units to a host of industrial areas such as building control systems.”
Both displays provide a contrast ratio of 300:1 using normally white transmissive TFT LCD technology. While the 18 gram TX07D09VM1CBB delivers a brightness of 420 cd/m2 in a 50.54(W)mm x 68.62(H)mm x 2.6(D)mm form factor, the resistance type touch panel TX07D09VM1CAB offers 340 cd/m2 from the same outline but slightly deeper 3.63(D)mm package, weighing in at 24grams. Both variants feature white LED backlights and offer 262,000 colours.
In order to satisfy the needs of the most demanding customers, Hitachi’s policy is to offer products which will be available for at least three years. The two TX07D09 variants are available immediately through Anglia.
Hitachi Display Products Group is also able to design and develop customised STN display modules for specific customer requirements.
